The end of the year is a great time to look at some housing statistics and comparing end of year to previous years gives insight into where the market is going. The following statistics are for the Garden District in New Orleans from 2004 to 2010, single family only. 2004 being the year before Katrina when every thing changed. You can see the housing market in New Orleans is doing quite well when compared to the rest of the country with prices increasing and days on the market decreasing. These statistics are culled from Gulf South Real Estate Information Network and are not verified by me. These numbers are an overview only and specifics about properties should be obtained from a Realtor®.
