Old Metairie is a small and prestigious part of the Metairie community and is the first real suburb of New Orleans in Jefferson Parish. The boundaries of the area known as Old Metairie are Airline Highway, Causeway Boulevard, Veterans Boulevard and the 17th Street Canal. There is a commercial area with coffee houses, spas, boutiques and small shops. The residential area of Old Metairie has some beautiful homes in the Mission, Colonial and Greek Revival genre. English tudors one of my personal favorites are many.
